THE SHOW
House of MCR doesn't need a stage; it creates one. From the grit of a dive bar to the glamour of a runway, the performers imbue every space with their undeniable fire – they are the show. It's not about the walls; it's about the soul, the passion, and the palpable energy that pulsates through every performance. This is more than a show; it's an experience, a powerful expression of QTBIPOC joy that leaves audiences spellbound. Don’t miss the chance to witness this magic firsthand; find House of MCR and feel the heat.
A riotous evening of drag, dance and disgustingly talented performers, House of MCR is a celebration of queer joy. It is also a showcase for the creativity of people of colour in the local LGBTQ+ Theatre Reviews North
The influence of the Ebony Fashion Fair, spearheaded by the visionary Eunice Johnson, resonates deeply as a touchstone for House Of MCR. Beyond the dazzling displays of couture, what truly captivates me is the show's groundbreaking structure as a touring spectacle that, remarkably, raised $55 million for African American charities. This model of entertainment with a profound social impact informs my core philosophy. My unwavering commitment is to provide a platform – and more importantly, fair compensation – to as many performers from underrepresented communities as possible. This isn't just a passing interest; it's the bedrock of my approach, the very reason I've dedicated my 25 years in this industry. To me, the stage isn't merely a place for artistic expression, but a powerful tool for both celebrating talent and driving positive societal change, much like the legacy of the Ebony Fashion Fair. - Darren Pritchard
